In this quick 3 week project, our brief was to take a piece of furniture from the past and redesign it to fit into the modern-day context.

I'm a fan of Otto Wagner and his Gesamtkunstwerk ("the total artwork") philosophy. In his design of the Postal Savings Bank in Austria, there's a stool he created for the tellers out of bent aluminium and beechwood. Using those materials, and the form language of the stool, I set out to create my own design.
